What are the Benefits of a Retinol Peel?

Retinol is a go-to active ingredient for addressing a range of skin concerns including fine lines and wrinkles, sebum overproduction, uneven tone and texture, and hyperpigmentation. This peel boosts cellular turnover, shedding old layers, stimulating collagen and elastin production. It strengthens the skin, reduces sensitivity, tightens pores, repairs damage, and reduces pigmentation to promote a healthier, more youthful complexion.

Before You Start Your At-Home Peel

To make sure your skin is safe and peel ready, consider the following:
  • Start with the mild or moderate levels if you haven’t tried this challenge before.
  • You CANNOT do this peel if you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or are breastfeeding.
  • Avoid the eye area as the retinol will creep up.
  • If you have a history of cold sores, skip application around the mouth.
  • Do not directly apply to the neck and chest as they are more sensitive areas, just wipe the excess product from your hands on your neck and chest after applying it to the face.
  • Cleanse your hands thoroughly before touching your face during this process.

Post Peel Considerations

  • Postpone your workouts for a few days because your skin will be tight, sensitive, and SPICY when you sweat!
  • Avoid the sun as much as possible during and after the peel process.
  • Diligently apply SPF every morning, and reapply in the afternoon (even if you stay inside).
  • Don’t try to be brave and skip the Hydrating Creme, re-apply multiple times daily to support recovery.
