PRP HAIR RESTORATION
PRP stimulates hair growth by activating dormant follicles in the scalp, whether this is due to male/female pattern baldness, alopecia, postpartum or hormonal hair loss, or hair loss or thinning due to dandruff/dry scalp. PRP contains growth factors and nutrients that enhance the body’s natural healing process which can increase blood supply to the hair follicle and trigger the growth phase of a dormant follicle.
PRP, or Platelet-Rich-Plasma, is the gold standard for minimally invasive hair restoration, which involves injecting platelets from your own blood into the vascular layer of your scalp
Increase blood supply to the hair follicle
Increase the thickness of the hair shaft
Trigger and maintain the growth phase of hair
Decrease hair loss and shedding
Your appointment length will vary from 45-90 minutes depending on the areas of hair thinning or loss. First we’ll apply a topical numbing cream to the area(s) being treated, then a small amount of blood is collected and sent off for a whirl in a centrifuge to separate the red and white blood cells, and plasma. Once separated, the PRP is extracted and injected into the affected area(s).

Frequently Asked Questions
What is PRP?
Platelet-Rich-Plasma therapy, or PRP, includes growth factors and nutrients that enhance the body’s natural healing process. Injecting a serum of concentrated platelets (taken from a small amount of your own blood) into the vascular layer of the scalp during a series of injections stimulates the dormant hair follicle to grow again.
How does it work?
PRP stimulates hair growth by activating dormant follicles in the scalp, whether this is due to male/female pattern baldness, alopecia, postpartum or hormonal hair loss, or hair loss or thinning due to dandruff/dry scalp. PRP contains growth factors and nutrients that enhance the body’s natural healing process which can increase blood supply to the hair follicle and trigger the growth phase of a dormant follicle.
When will I see results? Are they permanent?
So long as the underlying reason for hair loss is addressed, the hair will continue to follow the natural hair growth cycle indefinitely. Results can be seen in as few as 4 weeks following your first treatment, with full results within six months following your series of treatments. In most cases we recommend annual maintenance treatments to keep up with hair growth and fullness.
How many treatments will I need?
Number of treatments can vary person-to-person, but we typically recommend an initial series of three treatments spaced one month apart.
Is PRP Hair Restoration painful?
Before your treatment we will numb the scalp so your treatment is comfortable. Discomfort from PRP Hair Restoration is mild, with most patients rating it a 2-3/10. Your scalp may feel sensitive (almost like a sunburn) for 24-48 hours.
What is the downtime?
Some mild redness or inflammation of the scalp at the injection sites can be expected, and some sensitivity for 24-48 hours post treatment. For 24 hours following your treatment, do not wash your hair, sweat, or apply hair styling products (hairspray, dry shampoo, oils, etc.).
