Frequently Asked Questions

What is Botox?

BOTOX® therapy is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in the world, and when injected into your skin, it works to block signals from your facial nerves to your muscles. This means that your treated muscles are no longer able to contract, preventing wrinkles from forming and eliminating existing facial lines.

What is the difference between Botox, Dysport and Nuceiva?

Botox, Dysport, and Nuceiva are all the same medication (botulinum toxin type A), and all three treat fine lines and wrinkles that are caused by muscle movement. Botox, Dysport, and Nuceiva last 3-4 months. Some patients may have a preference for one over the other, so we recommend trying each and see what you prefer!

How long is a Botox appointment?

Neuromodulator treatments are very quick! Typically your first appointment will be about half an hour where we do a consultation, medical history, and consent forms, as well as discuss your concerns and goals. The injections themselves only take a couple of minutes!

How often do I need to get Botox?

Botox, Dysport, and Nuceiva last 3-4 months for most people, although everyone is different and duration may vary.

Is Botox Safe? What are the side effects?

Yes! Botox has very few side effects. It’s actually one of the safest, most well researched and studied medications there is! Bruising may occur due to the needle pokes, although these are usually very small. Some people also experience a headache initially after getting Botox.

What should I avoid after Botox?

·   No laying down or resting the head flat for a minimum of 4-6 hours post-treatment (no facials, massages, lash appointments, etc.)
·   Do not rub the treatment area after injection
·   No working out for 24-48 hours from the time of injection
·   No sun exposure or laying outside immediately after treatment
·   Clients cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding and can not have neurological disease(s)
