DERMAL FILLERS
As we age, our face loses bone density, fat, elastin and collagen under the skin that provides support. Dermal fillers can build structure, restore symmetry, proportion and even camouflage less desirable features.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are Dermal Fillers made of?
Most dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, but there are also other types of filler like Radiesse (calcium hydroxyapetite) and Sculptra (poly-l-lactic acid) which stimulate collagen. All of these substances are found naturally in the body, which makes them very safe and have little risk for any kind of adverse reaction to the product.
How long does dermal filler last?
Dermal fillers last anywhere from 6 month to two years. This will depend on the type of filler used, the amount used, and how your body metabolizes the filler. In general, lip filler lasts around 6-12 months while cheek, chin, and jawline may last 12+ months.
What is the procedure like?
During your appointment, after all forms and consent have been completed, we’ll first cleanse your skin and take before photos. We will then apply topical numbing cream or inject lidocaine to numb the area(s) treated. Once you are numbed, we will use very small needles or blunt-tipped cannulas to inject the filler. We’ll check in throughout the appointment so you will be able to see the results, although you may have some swelling or bruising.
What happens after the procedure?
After the procedure you may have some swelling or possible bruising. It is normal to experience some tenderness for a couple days after. The initial swelling and bruising will usually last 3-5 days. Although you will see results right away, it takes about three weeks for the filler to fully settle.
Will my face be saggy after the filler goes away?
No, your face will not be saggy once the filler is gone. At KOZA Skin Clinic we are very conscious of long-term reuslts and will only perform treatments that we know will benefit our clients long-term. The key is to replace volume in areas where it has already been lost, so there is “space” for the filler.
What areas can be treated with filler?
We can treat most areas on the face with dermal filler including: cheeks, lips, chin, jawline, temples, neckline, and even areas like the back of the hands.
